Anyone who wants to gain a better understanding of how to use their DSLR or Mirrorless camera.
What you’ll learn
This course will cover the fundamental camera techniques needed for basic photography and videography through both theory and practical exercises.
Morning Session: Know Your Camera
- Defining a camera
- Key components of exposure
- Aperture
- Shutter speed
- ISO
- The exposure triangle
- Finding your optimal settings
- Frame rates for video
- White balance
- Basic composition
Afternoon session: Use Your Camera
Students will have a walk around the local area to try out the different photography and videography techniques they have just learnt.
You will need to bring the following with you for this course:

Mirrorless or DSLR Camera and lens.
- Battery and spares if you have them
- Battery charger
- Memory cards
- ND Filter if you have them
- Appropriate outdoor clothing for a walk
