The 2024 poster and trailer were created during the wave of protests internationally this spring.
What, you might ask, do protests have to do with independent filmmakers and Raindance?
Raindance believes that every filmmaker faces an epic battle to bring their film to life. And once it is made, they have to fight against the establishment. The left-hand salute in the poster harks back to the “power to the people” gesture from the Summer of Love in 1967 – an empowering gesture fit to serve today’s filmmakers as a symbol of the perseverance it takes to get their film seen and watched.
With the encroachment of personal liberty and the erosion of liberty throughout the world, it falls to the filmmaker to voice their objections against these life-changing movements.
