The Raindance Film Festival is just around the corner. This year, we’re very happy to celebrate this 30th edition with films that fully reflect the independent spirit of the festival. But we know that every celebration worthy of the name also needs great parties to accompany it. That’s right, even film nerds know how to have fun. And I am here to encourage you, first and foremost, to show up at the cinema and see these great films, but also to attend our huge parties in grand style.
As you may already know, Raindance has several strands and welcomes every film genre as long as its independent nature remains strong and clear. Of course, we want this to be expressed in our parties as well!
As an accreditation or pass holder, you will have access to five amazing and super fun parties.
Wednesday 26th October: Opening Night Gala Party
We are off to a great start on the 26th of October at 8pm with a Gala Night at the Waldrof Hilton Hotel, right after the screening of our opening film: Corner Office, by Joachim Back starring Jon Hamm. This event is one of our favourites. We always start in style to welcome the beginning of the festival and, of course, to start celebrating our 30th birthday. The dress code is elegant and fashionable, be ready to walk the red carpet, meet the stars of the festival and dance the night away!

Thursday October 27th: Queer Prom Party
At the Raindance Film Festival there’s no time to rest, there’s only time to celebrate! That’s why the next day, the 27th of October at 8pm you are all welcome to our Queer Prom Party at Genesis Cinema. Come as queer as you are for this rainbow event that will follow the screening of the queer strand’s lead film, Erin’s Guide to Kissing Girls. The prom will be inspired from this film so… get ready to boogie!

Saturday October 29th: Halloween Night
Make sure to prepare your best costume for our Halloween Night! The party will celebrate the cult film The Blair Witch Project which premiered at Raindance in 1999. The date to save is 29th of October at Genesis cinema, 6pm. Remember to keep in mind the outfit part since there will be a competition to win!
Friday November 4th: Sonica Party
Following the screening of the documentary Razorlight: Fall to Pieces, be ready for a thrilling rock ‘n roll Sonica Party! Where? At Genesis Cinema. When? On the 4th of November at 7:30pm. If you’re a Razorlight fan, we are sure this is evening is going to be full of surprises, make sure not to miss it!

Saturday November 5th: Closing Night Party
Sadly, great things also come to an end, but we will take care to leave you with good memories. The Closing Night Party, at Genesis is on the 5th of November at 9PM. It will wear out your shoes as it takes place just after the viewing of the film Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game. All you need to know to arrive prepared for this evening is that the film is set in the 1970s and the main character has a ridiculously large fake moustache.
