Absolutely loved the course. Ufuk really provides you with all the essential knowledge you need to start editing well- from creating a project and assembly all the way to doing sound design, great transitions and simple animation techniques.

This course was wonderful as it was both efficient and manageable. The teacher in charge was clear and concise in his manner of instruction, whilst still being patient and informative whenever any help was required. On both days, different tasks were set out, each offering a step-by-step insight into some of the basic skills for using Adobe Premiere Pro. This included how to create a sequence and use the basic tools within it to cut and place shots, as well as how to use effects, transitions, and audio generally. The course was helpful in allowing each individual present to prepare each task to reach the expected goal whilst also encouraging one’s own creative vision to shine through. The course also touched on how to edit specific types of scenes such as a dialogue scene, as compared to a video without any. It also encompassed several different methods such as masking, the concept of cutting-on-action, and how to use a green screen or a clone effect.
The course was fun throughout, and by the end of each task, the class would showcase their work individually and receive adept feedback from the teacher. This helped us to know in which area we could improve, and what kinds of mistakes had been made in the process. Furthermore, it brought a deepened understanding as to how others had edited the task with the same footage, and the kinds of mistakes or unique inputs they had created. This showcased the many possibilities video editing also allows. During the task, the teacher would assist us personally, and questions could be asked at any time, which was reassuring in case any advice was needed. To keep organised, we would spend a specific amount of time for each task which also made us aware of how to make the most of one’s time through editing. In this way, the course was satisfying and I was happy to be able to attend. By the end of the second day, the teacher had also prepared a set of commonly asked questions to answer for us, as well as inquired about any other questions we would have personally wanted to ask. If I had to add any suggestions, it would have been to have more chances to talk about editing as a group, but there were also opportunities to talk with others there during the lunch break or even after the course. The teacher was also very open to any inquiries and very kind throughout. Overall, this course was a very pleasant and informative experience, and I am glad I could attend!

It was a great course. Ufuk’s natural enthusiasm for his subject and his passion for film shone through for the whole weekend. It was a really positive experience and I learned so much to set me on the right path. I can appreciate the difficulty of trying to impart so much knowledge in such a short space of time on a subject that is so in-depth and Ufuk pulled it off brilliantly. And I learnt how to make sharks fly! Who can argue with that? 🙂

An outstanding course, I learnt a lot not only about editing, but about
effects also. The teacher was very helpful whenever clarification
    was needed.

This course exceeded my expectations. It gave me an excellent overview of the basic Premier Pro tools but also highlighted some fun things you can do with overlaps and so forth. The group was small so you had the opportunity to ask questions. A number of exercises were given and results shown to the group with useful feedback. The class also looked at the theory and application of editing so wasn’t just technical. The teacher was obviously an enthusiastic filmmaker themselves so this added to the experience. Two days is a short time to get your head around it but at least this course gave you the tools to go off and practise yourself. The pricing was very competitive compared to other places and even cheaper if you sign up as a Raindance member.

Do it! This course was bl@@dy amazing. I came for editing, I came away with editing, green screen, where to get free footage, where to get free sound, how to download from yt, and more. Ufuk gave examples and all the the samples you need (which you can keep to practice with), and he is patient, generous and somehow (!?!)) funny AND serious all in the same course. Perfectly balanced. Like one of those films where you think “damn, I wish I hadn’t done it, just so I could go back and experience it all over again. So much information, and given methodically with you doing it yourself at the end of each section. So so happy to have done this course – premier pro should be paying this guy because he makes it a pleasure and you just want to go home and edit the sh!t out of everything – just for the fun of it! 😁

I had a great time doing this. Ufuk was an informative, patient and skilled teacher. I knew a fair bit of the basics already but going over it with him brought a different perspective and taught me some new tricks. The exercises on cutting on action and dialogue editing were really useful and definitely pushed me forward. Highly recommended.

  8. Mukesh Gadhvi (verified owner) –

I learnt a lot on the Hands on Film Editing Course.
It was very informative and we covered all the key aspects over 2 days.

I particularly liked the examples he showed about the different aspects of editing. It was a good mix of technical and theory.

Ufuk was a great Tutor. Very knowledgeable and patient and helpful. I will definitely do more of his courses.

I highly recommend this course to beginners.

  9. Stuart Morrison (verified owner) –

This was one of the best courses that I have ever done. The tutor was brilliant and as expected he knew his craft inside out. I have to admit that I am barely computer literate, yet the tutor was really patient with me and worked in such a way that I understood what the aim of each activity was and came away from the course with the knowledge I was looking for. If you want to develop your skills in editing then I would definitely recommend this course. It’s worth more than 5 stars.

  12. Yum Man TSO –

I’m so pleased to have taken the course. I’d self-learned a bit of adobe before and this course helps me to put the editing in perspective. The explanation of montage is simple and good. The editing learning by way of cut on action, dialogue, etc are simple way of illustrations of edition and laid the foundation of further learning of Adobe. Some other illustrations on how to do text, colours and sounds etc also help me to consolidated the use and later learning of Adobe. The course is inspiring for my understanding of editing and film making as a whole. It’s a very useful 2-days course for me.

  13. kashraj19 (verified owner) –

This was one of the best short courses I have ever taken. The course was so well paced that I was able to absorb and process everything. There was enough time for discussion, practice and questions which is rare in such short courses. Ufuk is an excellent tutor who understands his craft and happily shares with this students. Will highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn about editing and film in general.
